Material Handling System Testing
Project Overview

Testing

The total system approach begins in our full-scale test laboratory.

The Shick test facility consists of a full-scale pneumatic conveying system featuring Shick's component designs and PLC system. It is monitored by a computerized data acquisition system, which provides real-time information about product at numerous locations throughout the system.

Successful testing is often the result of your engineers working in tandem with our test lab personnel. You are encouraged to visit our testing facility and participate in the testing of your materials and system design.

Customer Product Testing

The continued evolution of seemingly commonplace materials and the introduction of a myriad of new ingredients make the need for material testing more important than ever. For us, the test lab is our primary means of getting to know these new products--to determine whether they are conveyable, in what type of environment and with what combination of components. For you, the test lab is a confirmation that Shick's designs and equipment will perform as promised . . . before you spend a dime.

Shick R&D

The test facility is a vital tool of the R&D department in developing and refining equipment designs. Here, prototypes are scrutinized to ensure that future Shick components continue to surpass the high standards already set.

Strengthening the Industry

The Shick test facility is an important resource in the industry. Recently, the Missouri Department of Education selected it to participate in its Customized Training Program for which Shick provides instructors and the test facility for training in the principles of bulk material handling. Shick also worked with BOC Gases to provide testing for their newly designed CO2 and nitrogen cooling injectors. Items from our test facility have been donated to the American Institute of Baking (AIB) for use in its classrooms.
