Permeable, Pleated Top Filter

Another innovation is Shick's pleated filter cover. The cover of the silo provides 540 sq. ft. of surface area - more than enough to handle the dust collection requirements of a pneumatic conveying system and a PD tanker filling operation. The pleated filter cover requires little maintenance.

Zoned Aeration Discharge

Reliable and efficient discharge of a bulk product is accomplished utilizing Shick's proprietary and proven "zoned" aeration system. The top layer of the liner system is made of a heavy-duty polyester belting that is sewn onto a bottom layer made of PVC coated fabric. Air passes through the top layer providing fluidization of the bulk product. The liner has 12 zones which are individually inflated or cycled to ensure uninterrupted flow to the discharge airlock and complete discharge of the silo.

Interior Liner

Because most indoor silos consist of dozens of bolt-together panels, interior seams typically require gaskets and caulking to prevent leaking. To eliminate this concern, Shick uses a flexible liner (as part of the aeration liner system) that completely covers all interior surfaces of the bin. The liner provides a clean, smooth surface and a moisture barrier for bulk storage.

Air Distribution Controller (ADC)

The ADC operates at the same time as the rotary valve. High volume, low pressure air is supplied through the ADC at timed intervals. Each of the 12 zones is aerated intermittently with the zone at the center discharge. The center zone action ensures a constant feed rate of the bulk material to the discharge valve.
